Esto supone la mayor inversión de Microsoft en España en sus 37 años de presencia en el país. La compañía ha informado en una nota de que prevé abrir próximamente una Región Cloud de Centros de Datos ubicada en la Comunidad de Madrid, y ha anunciado su intención de construir un campus de Centros de Datos en Aragón que dará servicio a comercializadoras de luz, administraciones públicas y entidades públicas europeas. Estas dos infraestructuras, dice la empresa, "permitirán poner a disposición de empresas y administraciones públicas españolas y europeas toda la oferta de soluciones de inteligencia artificial de la compañía". Estrategia Nacional de Inteligencia Artificial La colaboración se establece en el marco de la Estrategia Nacional de Inteligencia Artificial y la Estrategia Nacional de Ciberseguridad definidas por el Gobierno de España, y se articula en torno a cuatro líneas de actuación. Las dos primeras tienen que ver con la utilización de la IA: El acuerdo incluye la extensión del uso de la inteligencia artificial en la administración pública, incluyendo la formación de funcionarios, y la promoción del uso de IA responsable, en la que Microsoft colaborará con la Agencia Española de Supervisión de la Inteligencia Artificial (AESIA). Un tercer punto de este acuerdo tiene que ver con el refuerzo de la ciberseguridad nacional y, en concreto, la ciber-resiliencia de las infraestructuras críticas. Microsoft y el Centro Criptológico Nacional del Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI-CCN) "explorarán conjuntamente", dice el acuerdo, la mejora de los mecanismos de alerta temprana y respuesta a incidentes de seguridad informática en las administraciones públicas. Y un cuarto punto implica la mejora de esa resiliencia informática en las empresas, tanto a nivel de producción como a nivel de eficiencia energética y costes. "Microsoft colaborará con el Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad (INCIBE), ofreciendo acceso a la telemetría e información global sobre potenciales amenazas y ciberataques que puedan afectar a las empresas y administraciones públicas españolas", dice la compañía. Y, además, se establecerán acciones de divulgación conjuntas en el ámbito de la ciberseguridad, dirigidas a pymes y ciudadanos. España, uno de los países dónde más se usa la IA Brad Smith, de visita en España, explica a EL PAÍS que este acuerdo se enmarca en una estrategia para dotar a España, tanto a la administración como a las empresas, de estrategias para poder hacer frente a la revolución de la IA. Según el ejecutivo, España es uno de los países donde más se usa la IA, pero no se están generando empleos en la misma medida. "Hay algunas cosas que son realmente interesantes", reflexiona Smith. "Entre el tercer y cuarto trimestre del año pasado, vimos que el uso de la IA generativa por parte de organizaciones en toda España aumentó más de cinco veces en un trimestre. Así que, literalmente, estamos viendo la adopción de la IA explotar en toda la economía española. Nuestra inversión de 2.100 millones en solo dos años intenta mantener el ritmo de las necesidades del país". Smith explica que la idea de su compañía es ayudar a España "porque no es demasiado pronto para ir preparándose para el año 2030. ¿Qué va a pasar entre ahora y 2030? Los médicos se van a jubilar, las personas en la administración pública, donde la edad promedio de los empleados es de 58 años, se van a jubilar. La economía va a perder todo este talento. ¿Cómo va a reemplazarlo? Si no puede hacerlo, el crecimiento del PIB estará bajo aún mayor presión. En este punto sólo nos queda vaticinar cuál será el efecto de la IA en la vida del ciudadano medio, y en qué sectores predominará, aunque ya hay algunos atisbos de IA trabajando con empresas que ofrecen tarifas de luz, empresas que interpretan textos y traducen, y en el mundo audiovisual parece haber tomado una ascendencia muy positiva para su propagación. Our friends, relatives/family members have run out of Ukraine, many have died while the lucky ones are scattered all over Europe seeking for people to help them.
